Key conundrum
Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end
Scott Adams
Black Friar Court residents are currently having preparatory asbestos removal works carried out to their block, and residents are being asked to remove their belongings from affected areas to allow the works to proceed.
It’s all in a day’s work to help residents prepare their homes for improvement works. So Lead Resident Liaison Officer, Adam Berry got to work on helping one particular resident to clear his home of some clutter that had built up.
Despite his fear of heights, Adam worked with site operatives to get the items out of the flat, onto the balcony, onto the hoist and into the skips below.
The resident had left the team to it and gone out, leaving his key with Adam. Although he was expected back at 4.30, he hadn’t turned up. Adam had an evening appointment, but didn’t want to lock up and leave with the keys in case the resident was locked out. So having waited a while, he rang the tenant, who was enjoying a drink with some friends and had totally forgotten about the keys. Luckily Adam knows most of the residents in the block, and was able to suggest leaving the keys with one of his neighbours. Luckily the neighbour was in and recognised Adam. The keys were left safely with the neighbour, and Adam was able to leave site safe in the knowledge that he hadn’t locked out a resident.
